Epilepsy and developmental disorders: a literature review

The article presents the systematization and generalization of scientific data on the effects of epilepsy on mental development. We analyze the importance of various factors in the mental development of children with epileptic paroxysms in anamnesis. We conclude that modern research should be aimed at identifying the features of mental development in children with different forms of epilepsy, and how epileptic paroxysms affect the child’s developing brain on the basis of system-dynamic approach.
