CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF PSYCHOLOGICAL-PEDAGOGICAL HERITAGE OF BRITISH SCIENTISTS IN RUSSIAN SCIENCE OF LATE XIX – EARLY XX CENTURY

A historical analysis of the impact of British scientists on the development of educational psychology in Russia was performed. By the end of the first decade of the XX century the interest in child and educational psychology became international. In parallel, in different countries societies, research institutions, published magazines devoted to child and educational psychology were created. Research and the comparative analysis of the psychological and pedagogical ideas in Russian and British science reveal those common and various trends that characterized the end of the XIX century. At the end of the XX century, British and Russian scientists defined many important issues of psychological and pedagogical sciences and outlined prospective solutions. Much of what was done in that period of time not only saves the historical significance, but is still true now.
