ANALYSIS OF APPROACHES TO ASSESSMENT OF SOCIOEMOTIONAL COMPETENCE IN PRESCHOOL AND PRIMARY SCHOOL CHILDREN

The article provides a review of some of the latest developments in the diagnostics of socio-emotional competence (SEC) in children. It presents the techniques using observation, interview, questionnaires, projective techniques, modeling of social situations to assess the level of SEC. In addition to diagnostic tools designed directly for the child, the methods that take into account the social adult and / or parent-reported assessment of child’s SEC are described. The author points out the need for a systematic approach to the diagnostics, taking into account age specifics, the social situation of development (SSD) of a child involving family and adult educators / teachers, implementing the principle of unity of diagnosis and correction of children’s SEC.
