THE RELATIONSHIP OF AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOR WITH ADAPTATION TO MILITARY SERVICE IN CONSCRIPTS WITH DIFFERENT LATERALIZATION OF MOTOR AND SENSORY FUNCTIONS
Novosibirsk State Pedagogical University
In the current study significant differences in the manifestation of aggressive behavior in conscripts with different lateral phenotypes were found. High ability to adapt to military service was noted in militaries with the right profile of lateral organization – PLO (right-handed) with a combination of right- handedness and a leading right eye; in turn, soldiers with the left and symmetric PLO showed lower adaptive capacity. Also, it was found that soldiers with right-hand PLO (right-handed) had more positive emotional environment, and soldiers with symmetrical and left-hand PLO had more negative emotional states and a disposition to intropunitive aggression. The positive association between adaptation ability and self-reported resentment assessed with the profile of aggressive behavior was found. These results might be of great significance in military service.
