The article presents the results of a study of coping with stressful situations in girls at risk of eating disorders. The study involved women 12–24 years (N=157) – high school and university students from Moscow. The risk of eating disorders was assessed by the Eating Attitude Test (EAT-26), satisfaction with the body – Body Appreciation Scale (BAS), coping strategies – with the Ways of Coping Questionnaire (WCQ). Girls at risk most often use avoidance, acceptance of responsibility, self-control; they often «seize stress» or substitute the process of eating with maladaptive forms of activity.
