The current article represents the results of the study of proactivity personal components in patients with paranoid schizophrenia. The authors suggest that the etiological structure of this disease must include the proactivity factor – the original personal activity, which is not influenced by the environment as it emerges, but arises solely within the individual. The authors believe that underdeveloped proactivity, which is associated with low stress tolerance, affects the risk of self-destructive behavior. Consideration of these features, according to the authors, helps to create psychocorrectional and psychotherapeutic models for work with the personality of schizophrenia patients.
