The article presents a comparative analysis of subjective and objective phenomena of visual percep-tion: illusions and virtual (imaginary) visual images. We attempted to identify the original objective and subjective features and the mechanisms of their occurrence. We identified the preferred value of the subjective factor in illusion formation on the basis of the participants’ observations and described the objective mechanisms of visual perception.
Keywords: visual illusions, virtual (imaginary) visual images.
