Foreign neurophysiological study of intellectual giftedness

This paper presents an overview of the results of foreign neurophysiological, mainly electroencephalographic (EEG), studies of mental giftedness. We consider data on the activation of different regions of the cerebral cortex in individuals, including children with high and medium levels of intellectual and creative abilities in tasks of different types (open and closed, convergent and divergent, verbal and picturesque) and complexity. It is concluded that not only different levels of intellectual and creative abilities, and levels of academic achievement are reflected in the peculiarities of EEG activation.
